The Centers of Hope feeds
children in various areas of Managua, and occasionally other areas of Nicaragua,
on outreaches. These programs
are dependent upon offerings and donations, both within the country, and abroad,
through our sponsorship. Our
Mexico contact minister also holds feeding programs at various times, along the
US border near McAllen, Texas. We want to establish similar feeding programs in El Salvador
and Guatemala, as we strive to maintain our current programs.
In their native
environment, many of these children simply do not eat on a regular basis, and
the food they eat often does not contain total nutrition.
Due to unsanitary living conditions, their food may be contaminated, and
many of them suffer from parasite infestation, contributing to their
malnutrition. On the medical-dental
outreaches, children often receive parasite medication, and this treatment is
also available at the Center of Hope Clinics.
The Forest Hill
Nutritional Center enables the national workers of the Centers of Hope to
prepare the food for the various feeding programs within appropriate hygienic
conditions.
