Each year, we like to send a team to Nicaragua to bring
gifts, candy, and love to very poor children sometime during the month of
December as a Christmas ministry. These
teams should have some members who have been involved in children’s ministries
in order to bring the children some type of entertainment, such as puppets,
plays, short dramas, action songs, games, etc. It is helpful if teams bring a small portable sound
system and tapes or CDs for their ministry.
You don’t have to be professionals—you just have to enjoy ministering
to children.
During the ministry, gifts and candy are distributed to the
children at each site. This can be
a bit challenging, but with enough team members, it can go smoothly.
Teams of about 10-15 people are the right size.
If you or your church would be interested in sending a
team, or going on a team, let us know, and we can make the in-country
arrangements and personally guide you to carry your ministry. It is your ministry, and we can provide whatever
counsel and guidance you desire.
If your church is unable to provide the funds for this
ministry, the team members can raise their own funds simply by presenting to
churches, groups, and friends your intentions to minister to poor children in
Nicaragua. Most people, if they are
able, will help. Your church can
also have projects to raise the funds.
