Hogar Agape was constructed by a U.S. team not affiliated
with the Centers of Hope Missions International. However, it is located on the premises of Center of Hope #2,
and the Centers of Hope Missions International has become an affiliate sponsor
in giving assistance to the children of the orphanage. Some of the first orphans were brought to Hogar Agape because
they were members of a large family whose parents were brutally murdered before
the eyes of the children. This
caused the children great emotional trauma.
Many of the children have simply been abandoned due to poverty and
abusive treatment. There are
presently 24 children staying in the orphanage.
Their ages range from 5 to 13 years.
The building is well constructed and very adequate to house
these children, but there is need for on-going financial support
to continue to provide comprehensive care for these children who have been
deprived of the love and affection of their parents.
The caregivers would like to begin music classes for some of the older children and are requesting 20 flutes and an acoustic guitar. If there is anyone who would like to donate any of these items, please contact us. Below are photos of the orphanage and of some of the children.
